Tuesday: Bath Over Livonia, Spencerport over Thunder in OT

There were sixteen games in the Section on Tuesday. Spencerport used overtime to defeat the Thunder 10-9. Bath was a 9-8 winner over Livonia in GRALL action. Victor remained undefeated with a win over Penfield. Thomas took out Hilton, 6-4. Other winners were Lightning, Penn Yan, Aquinas, Batavia-Attica, Churchville-Chili, Canandaigua, Irondequoit, Pittsford, Wayne, Midlakes and Gananda

--  NOTES:  In a back and forth game, Canandaigua scored the final four goals to secure a 12-8 win over Rush-Henrietta. The game was a close one throughout with five ties and three lead changes. The Braves came out with the opening goal to take the first lead of the contest. Patrick Bay scored unassisted with the first of his 2g-1a. R-H scored the next goal with Nick Lenhard scoring off a pass from Curtis Raymond. Raymond was one of the big scorer for the Royal Comets with 1g-2a. Jake Hughes also finished with 3g for R-H.

Both teams alternated another goal with Tim Bay scoring for the Braves and Collin Waden scoring for the Royal Comets. The game was tied 2-2 with 10:30 remaining in the second quarter. Canandaigua came out swinging and scored three unanswered goals to go up 5-2. Curtis Raymond scored with 0:14 left in the half to cut the Braves lead to 2 (5-3) going into halftime.

RH regrouped during halftime and came up to scored four more goals (five total unanswered goals) and to take a 7-5 lead. Hughes scored all three of his goals in succession with two unassisted and one assisted by Raymond. Beginning the fourth quarter, the Royal Comets were in control and led by two. Canandaigua scored seven of the last eight goals in fourth quarter. Ben Smith-Wilcox scored four goals with Connor Hulme (2) and Bay rounding out the seven. In the cage for R-H, Colin Mix recorded four saves. For Canandaigua, Luke MacNeil recorded 13 saves.

--  NOTES:  Greece Arcadia/Olympia scored six out of seven straight goals to secure their 10-6 win over Brockport. The game was close for the first two quarters before the Lightning opened up their scoring in the late second/early third quarters. Quinton Caleb score the opening goal of the contest for the Blue Devils with an assist from Austin Myers. Myers finished with a team leading 1g-2a. Caleb led the Blue Devils in shots with 10 (4 on cage).

The Lightning came tied the game and took the lead with back to back unassisted goals from Matt McHale and Adrian Romero. Less than one minute later Myers scored his lone goal to keep the game tied at 2-2. The final goal of the opening quarter was scored by Xavier Bakari to give the Lightning the 3-2 lead after one.

Brockport tied the game for the third time with a goal from Chad Tobey (once again assisted by Myers) with 10:02 remaining in the half. With 7:06 left in the half, Greece started their scoring streak. They added two goals in the second quarter (Javia Ludgood and Tyler Dalle) before Caleb scored the lone Brockport goal of the stretch with 0:18 left in the half. The Lightning continued in the third quarter with three goals; they held the Blue Devils scoreless until the fourth quarter. They added another goal with 8:36 remaining in the final goal was an unassisted goal from McHale to take their largest lead 9-4. Both teams alternated scoring until the final sore.

In the cage for Brockport, Elijah Ryan finished with 4 saves. Four players led in ground balls with 3 each: Myers, Caleb, midfielder Jon Yaeger and defenseman Trevor Stein. Myers also finished at 70% at the face off draw (7/10). In the cage for Greece, Gavin Catalano finished with four saves

--  NOTES:  In one of the strongest comebacks in recent years, Spencerport fought back from a 9-0 deficit to defeat Greece Athena/Odyssey 10-9. The Thunder were leading 9-0 with 4:26 remaining in the third quarter when their final goal was scored. The first Ranger goal was scored with 3:57 remaining in third quarter. They old added one more goal in third quarter, an unassisted goal from Victor Pascucci with 0:01 remaining. Spencerport scored seven goals in the fourth quarter to tie the game.

The last three goals of regulation were scored by Colin McElligott with 3:31, 2:55 and 2:48 remaining in regulation. McElligott also assisted the sixth goal and the game winning goal. He was a part of each of the final five goals for Spencerport. The game winning goal was scored on the sixth shot of overtime by Trevor Dustin with 0:21 remaining during a man-up situation.

Junior defenseman Chris Cottom scored his first Varsity goal during the contest. Face-off midfielder Andrew Forte was a major player in the game with an 82% win rate. He finished with a team leading 18 ground balls and was instrumental in give the Rangers the necessary ball time for the comeback. Midfielder Jordan Swilley and attackman Jonathan Agness added five ground balls each. In the cage, Patrick Chapman finished with four saves.

--  NOTES:  After losing to Canisius 8-3 in their second game of the season, Aquinas redeemed themselves tonight defeating the Crusaders 11-5. The win came on the outstanding play by sophomore goalie Tony Deleo. Deleo was 53% in their first contest with nine saves compared to 77% with 17 saves in tonight's contest. Deleo stepped up in the third quarter especially with 7 saves while holding the Crusaders scoreless.

Leading in scoring for the Little Irish were Terrance Richards (3g-1a), Elliot Clemmons (2g-2a) and Nick Tschetter (2g-2a). Defensemen Jack Owens and Tyler Olbrich led in ground balls with 5 each.

--  NOTES:  Livonia took the early 5-1 lead before Bath fought back and defeated the Bulldogs 9-8. The Rams scored five of the last seven goals to secure their win; including two man-up goals. Face off midfielder Patrick Brewer finished at 67% for the Rams and was instrumental in giving them possession when then needed it. He also led his team in ground balls with 10.

Livonia took the early lead with scoring from Zach Bishopp, Reid Mattle (2), Timothy Lischer and Nick Kallio. The first Bath goal was scored by Tommy George with an assist from Connor DiDomineck. Livonia led 5-1 with 6:42 remaining in the second quarter. Bath scored three unanswered goals to bring the game within a single goal with 9:40 remaining in the third quarter. Mattle scored his third goal to put the Bulldogs back on top by two. Tyler Finch and Brewer scored back to back goals for Bath to tie the game for the first time at 6-6.

Livonia's Kallio scored to put them back on top and open up the fourth quarter. Kallio scored during man-up. Three minutes later Bruce Rinker scored for the Rams to tie the game again at 7-7. DiDomineck assisted on the man-up goal. Less than one minute later, Bath took their first lead of the game 8-7 with 7:01 remaining in the contest. Livonia's final goal tied the game for the third time in quarter with a man-up goal from Dominic Coon (assisted by Bishopp). DiDomineck scored his lone goal to give the Rams the win with 2:15 remaining on the clock.

In the cage for Bath, Jacob Cupp finished at 50% with eight saves. For Livonia, John Stockslader recorded five saves. Bishopp took half the face-off draws and finished at 55% (6/11) and led in ground balls with nine. Kallio, an attackman, added another seven ground balls.

--  NOTES:  Webster Thomas scored the first three goals and the final two goals in their 6-4 win over Hilton. The Cadets scored three of their goals in a single stretch with 4 out of 5 coming in a row. The Titans had five different players make their scorebook with midfielder Cam Isaac leading with 2g-1a. The opening goals were scored by Shane Rickard, Isaac and Travis Ford. Rickard and Ford both scored during man-up. During the contest there were 10 penalties and their goals were the only two scored during man-up play.

Hilton scored the first goal late in the first quarter With Timothy Santiago scoring unassisted with 0:41 remaining in the opening quarter. Thomas came back and scored on the ensuing face off only six seconds later with Isaac assisting Ford for his second goal. In a flurry of scoring, Hilton scored another goal with 0:04 remaining in the quarter to make the score 4-2 Thomas after one quarter. Hilton scored the next two goals to tie the game was scoring from Zeus Doser and Shawn Kimble. Kimble's goal was the final goal for the Cadets and came with 1:50 remaining in the second quarter (they were held scoreless for the final 25:50). Thomas added a goal with 0:32 remaining in the second quarter and 4:48 remaining in the third quarter. Neither team scored in the final 16 minutes.

In the cage for Hilton, Jarod Kimble finished with 9 saves (60%). Face off midfielder Hunter Duford led in team in ground balls with six. Defenseman Armand Florio added four ground balls. Florio and defenseman Richard Scacchetti added three takes each. Thomas goalie Davis Bird finished with 10 recorded saves (71%). Isaac finished at 57% for the face-off draw for the Titans (4/7). He also led with six ground balls.
