Tuesday: Five One goal Games Today: CA wins in Double OT |
April 21, 2015 - After a number of weeks with runaway scores, there were five games tonight one by a single goal. A most dramatic game saw Canandaigua, an 8-7 winner over Penfield in double overtime. Wayne beat Geneva 9-8, Livonia was a one goal winner over Eastridge, Brockport defeated Bloomfield-Honeoye by a goal and Hilton was an 8-7 overtime winner against Irondequoit. Pittsford remained undefeated with their win over Fairport tonight and Victor remained undefeated with their win over Schroeder. Other winners included Waterloo, Bloomfield-Honeoye, Penn Yan, Pal-Mac, Gananda, Rush-Henrietta, Spencerport and Thomas.

-- NOTES: Greece Arcadia/Olympia and Brockport had a tough back and forth game with Brockport coming out on top 7-6. The Blue Devils won for the first time since 2012. The Lightning came out in the opening quarter with the first two goals of the contest. Brockport responded with four unanswered goals from Quinton Caleb, Austin Myers and Austin Manchester (2). They led 4-2 with 5:25 left in the second quarter. The Lightning didn't give up and tied the score again in less than three minutes with goals from Joseph Tortora and Matt McHale. Brockport scored the final goal of the second quarter to hold a 5-4 lead going into halftime.
Each team added a single goal in each of the final two quarters. McHale scored his third to start of the quarter (3:18 remaining). Manchester scored his third as time expired in the quarter (0:02). The fourth quarter was slow getting started with both goals coming in the final thirty seconds. Manchester scored to put the Blue Devils up by two with 0:29 remaining. Tyler Dalle scored the final goal with 0:16 left, but the Lightning could not tie the game and force overtime. In the cage for Brockport, back-up goalie Alex Mann finished with 12 saves (63%) and was a key factor in the win.

The Eagles led 7-5 with 5:23 remaining in regulation. Hunter Duford scored his lone goal with 2:42 remaining. Less than a minute later Shawn Kimble scored the first of his 2g-1a to tie the game and force overtime. Nine seconds into overtime Kimble scored the game winning goal for Hilton.
In the cage for Hilton, Jarod Kimble finished with 11 saves (61%). Defenseman Armand Florio led the Cadets with four ground balls. Goodrich added three more. For Irondequoit, Max Eismann finished with 10 saves.
