Saturday: The 2015 Season Begins |

The first day of the 2015 season saw lop-sided scoring in all five games as Bath, Aquinas, Rush-Henrietta, Newark and East Aurora (Section VI) each won their games by no less than five goals. Four of the games were part of the annual GRALL Day at Aquinas who hosted GRALL team at their Robert B. Wegman Stadium.

-- Bath and Gananda played closely in the first half, with Bath up 6-5 at the half. In the second half, the Rams took off and extended their lead. Bruce Rinker, Connor DiDomineck and Michael Rice each had six or more points. For Gananda, Cruz Mayberry had five goals and face off specialist Remmy Glod won 27 of his 29 face offs and picked up 15 gbs. Long stick midfielder, Dylan Joy added 11 gbs and added 3 take aways.
-- Nick Tschetter led the scoring for Aquinas with 3g-3a, while Elliot Clemmons led the team in ground balls with seven. The Lil Irish saw over eleven minutes of penalties but their man-down defense held St. Francis to a one man up goal.

-- Jake Hughes posted a great game on Saturday (3g-3a) along with Collin Waden who added 5g-1a to lead the Royal Comets offense. Sam Schuback won 13 of his 21 face offs for R-H who took 27 shots (89% on cage).
-- Coach Matthew Landfried of Batavia-Attica spoke highly of his team even after their 9-4 loss to East Aurora of Section VI. The game remained close for the first three quarters before penalties became an issue in the fourth quarter and East Aurora pulled ahead for the win.
