Bradley Voigt

Bradley Voigt has been a key factor in the success of the Mustangs for the last five years. His career stats total 237g-148a which have helped secure a place for him at Syracuse University after graduation. A two time first team All Section player and two time All Tournament team member, the senior offensive player has played both attack and midfield as needed.

After unexpected losses to Fairport and Penfield, Voigt pulled his team together and helped set them on a four game winning streak.

Head Coach Brian Hobart knows the value the Mustang leading scorer. "After a difficult week the week prior Bradley displayed leadership and helped him team respond and have a very successful week. He cares and looks out for his teammates and his family."

Cam Gebhardt

Scoring four goals in Fairport`s 7-4 win over Pittsford last week is just one of the times that Cam has helped the Red Raiders this season. The second year varsity attackman has consistently scored in every game this year adding 24g-12a to his freshmen stats for a two year total of 45g-16a.

Red Raider Head Coach is looking forward to a long time with Cam, "Only a Sophomore he has had an outstanding year for us. He is a great finisher and has worked very hard in the off season to develop into a well rounded offensive player."

Joey Scalise

Joey Scalise "played on his head" in the Fairport-Pittsford game last week according to many at the game. His eighteen saves (82%) was dramatic. With only one game this year below sixty percent, he has a 67 percent save average this year with 479 minutes in the cage. After posting a ninety percent day against West Genesee earlier in the year he added two partial shutouts, before Head Coach Mike Torrelli put in the subs.

Say Torrelli, "Joey is the leader of our Defense. "One of Joey's biggest strengths as a goalie is his Leadership skills. He runs our Defense and has the incredible ability to keep us focus and on task."

Liam Smith

Long stick defenseman don't seem to get the same respect as high scoring attackmen or high performing goalies, but Aquinas senior defenseman Liam Smith still stands out. With 78 ground balls and 20 takes for the Lil Irish, he has often been the player to control possession time for Aquinas.

Well respected by opponents and teammates, his Head Coach Grant Catalino thinks highly of Smith. "Liam is the leader of our defense and a captain of our team. He is not outspoken but speaks up when necessary and he truly leads by example. He is a great role model for the younger players on our team."

The Connors and Ferris law firm is sponsoring recognition for a Varsity level Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week this year.

Each week a small committee of SportsFive.NET staff members and Section Five Lacrosse Committee members will create and review review nominations from coaches, players and fans and pick one offensive and one defensive player who have excelled in a game or games during the season.

The award winners will receive a commemorative shirt and will featured on the SportsFive.NET web site.
