Tuesday: Penfield over Pittsford plus many postponed games
 - 

Penfield took control of the game and although Pittsford tied several times, the victors were from Penfield in a 9-8 thriller at Nazareth College. Irondequoit had an 14-4 win over visiting HF-L. Other winners with completed games were Fairport, Eastridge and Gananda.

A number of games were postponed due to the electrical storms that came in just after 7:00. Gates Chili ended their game early with the Spartans up 13-3 over Brockport. Churchville-Chili vs Hilton will resume tomorrow with the scored tied at 7-7 with 10:37 left in the game. Geneva was up 8-6 over Waterloo after three quarters and plan to finish on Wednesday. Bath was up 11-4 with four minutes left in the third quarter and hope to finish at Avon tomorrow. Pal-Mac was up 9-5 in the third quarter in their game with Wayne. They hope to finish on Saturday. Bloomfield-Honeoye was ahead in the first quarter when their game with Mynderse was stopped.

--  Greece Arcadia/Olympia scored three of the last four goals to defeat Spencerport 13-10. Both teams scored in streaks with the game tied at 5, 7 and 8. The Largest lead of the game was in the second quarter when Lightning led 5-1 before Spencerport scored four goals to tie the game in the early third quarter. The Rangers only led once, and for only 0:30, in the third quarter. They were led in scoring by Brandon Ellis and Kasey Olsen with 3g each. Penfield vs Pittsford

--  Penfield took the early lead and held off the late advances by Pittsford to win 9-8. The Patriots played a consistent four quarters while the Panthers had high scoring second and fourth quarters and low scoring first and third quarters. Additionally, the Panthers had a hard time with shot selection and a significant percentage of their shots missing the cage. Midfielders Brandon Barker and James Felix and attackman Stephen Quinzi combined for 24/37 shots with twelve on cage and they produced five goals. The Panther finished with 51% of their shots on cage while Penfield at 67% on cage.

The opening goal was scored by Max Spaan, assisted Brian Wall, with 5:22 remaining in the first quarter. With 0:06 remaining, the Patriots scored their second goal on an unassisted drive by Hunter Savitcheff. Penfield lead 2-0 after the first quarter. Pittsford scored their first goal 13:02 into the game with Billy Cooper scoring unassisted. Spaan scored his first goal to keep the two goal lead for Penfield. James Felix finished with 2g-2a for Pittsford and scored his first goal (unassisted) with 8:57 remaining in the second quarter. One minute later Pittsford tied the game for the first of three times. Barker assisted Billy Cooper for the goal. Penfield scored on a man-up goal to take back their lead. Wall found Jake Sproule open 0:18 after Pittsford tied the game. The first half ended with Pittsford's Jonathan Perotto scoring to tie the game at 4-4.

Pittsford scored the first goal of the third quarter to lead for the first and only time. Felix scored with an assist from Quinzi with 5:56 remaining. Penfield scored the next three goals before the third quarter expired. James Stoler, Wall and Sproule each scored for the Patriots. Going into the final quarter, Penfield led by two (7-5). In the fourth quarter, the teams alternated goals with Pittsford scoring the first and last goals, but never tying the game. Barker added two and Quinzi added the final goal for Pittsford with 1:04 remaining. Pittsford had the last possession of the game and Barker took a shot with time running down before Penfield's Liam Guiton came up with a big save to keep the Patriots in the lead. Guiton finished with 11 saves (58%).

Attackman James Stoler finished with six ground balls to lead for the Patriots. Pittsford defenseman Jared Conners finished with four ground balls to lead the Panthers. In the cage, Dylan Sulzbach recorded nine saves to finish at 50%.  return to top
