Thursday: Many Overmatches - Victor Takes Penfield
 - 

Although the majority of the fourteen games played today were overmatches, there were a couple of exciting ones. Victor used a a string of seven goals to beat Penfield 12-8. The Lightning defeated Livonia 8-3. The other winners were Canandaigua, Wayne (in a shutout), Pal-Mac, Thunder, Brockport, Geneva, Gananda, Spencerport, Irondequoit, Waterloo, Thomas and HF-L.

--  Game NOTE:Victor scored seven unanswered goals in the second and third quarters to take the game to 9-3 early in the third quarter. Penfield played hard in the second half but couldn't come back from a six goal deficit.

The game was back and forth for the first 14 minutes before the Blue Devils` run. Penfield scored the opening goal with an unassisted drive from Brian Wall. Four minutes later and Victor got on the board with an unassisted goal from Luke Bartkoski. Less than thirty seconds later Jamie Trimboli scored for the Blue Devils to give them their first lead. The Patriots scored the final goal of the quarter to tie the game after 12 minutes. Max Spaan scored the first of his two goals unassisted with 1:07 remaining.

Penfield scored the first goal of the second quarter with a man-up goal from Jake Sproule (assisted by Wall). Less than one minute later it was tied for the third time. Ryan Maloney assisted Mike DeMarco for the Blue Devils goal. DeMarco scored with 10:26 to start off the seven goal streak. Dan Barrow (x2), Eric Haney (x2), Bartkoski and Max Lambert scored during the run for Victor. Bartkoski scored the seventh goal with 8:31 remaining in the third quarter. The Patriots were held scoreless for nearly 20 minutes of game time. Penfield attempted to fight back in the second half but never got closer than four.

In the cage for Penfield Liam Guiton finished with seven saves. Attackman Mitch Standera led the Patriots in ground balls with four. James Stoler, Wall and Tommy Bell each finished with three ground balls for Penfield. Victor goalie Brennan Mackey finished with 6s/8ga. --  Game NOTE:In a game that was closer than the score shows, Webster Thomas defeated Brighton 15-9. The Titans scored five of the last six goals spanning the last quarter and a half. The Barons were only down by two goals (10-8) when Thomas started a five goal streak. Three goals came in the last three minutes of the third quarter and two more to start the fourth quarter.

Brighton opened the scoring with a man-up goal from Max Coke. Thomas scored the next two to take their first lead of the game with scoring from Kevin Hill and Coz Fiore. Coke added his second with 6:06 remaining in the opening quarter. Thomas scored the next three to take a 5-2 lead early in the second quarter.

Brighton and Thomas traded goals early in the second before Thomas added another two back-to-back to finish the half leading 8-4. The Titans added the first goal of the third quarter to lead by five with Matt Fiore assisting Travis Ford. Brighton scored the next three with a goal from Ethan Appleton and two from Will Bender. Brighton was within two goals (9-7) with 5:53 remaining in the third quarter. Both teams traded scoring before the Thomas started their scoring streak.

In the cage for Thomas, Davis Bird and Dean O'Neil split time. Bird recorded 3 saves in 30 minutes and O'Neil recorded 5 saves in 18 minutes. Midfielder Joe Vasile and attackman Mitch Hutteman each finished with four ground balls for the Titans. Brighton goalie, Isaac Berg recorded seven saves.
