Friday: Penfield Over OP and CA over McQ |

Section 6 powerhouse, Orchard Park came to play at Penfield, but the Patriots scored the first five goals on their way to a 9-6 win today. Meanwhile, McQuaid Jesuit (4-2) played Canandaigua (4-3) at Evans field, and the Braves were a 10-7 winner. Victor and Spencerport were run-away winners in the other two games played on Friday.

-- Penfield scored the first five goals and held off a late push to defeat Orchard Park (Section 6), 9-6. The Patriots controlled the game for its entirety, holding their five goal lead until the fourth quarter. The Patriots were led in scoring by three players with 2g-1a each: Attackman Ryan Fulton, attackman James Stoler and midfielder Mitch Standera. In the cage for Penfield, Liam Guiton finished with 10 saves. .

-- Hilton scored the final six goals in their 9-6 win over Greece Arcadia/Olympia. Hilton held the Lightning scoreless for the final 13:28. The Cadets started off the scoring 0:39 into the contest with Zeus Doser assisting Tyler Farrell. The next two goals came from Greece. One was in the first quarter and the second was in the second quarter. Colby Habermacher and Nick Serio scored unassisted goals from the Lightning to give them their first lead of the game with 9:07 remaining in the second quarter. Hilton scored the next goal to tie the game going into halftime. Adam Williams assisted Pal Burns for the Cadets.
In the third quarter Hilton started taking over the game. The Cadets added two goals and the Lightning scored their final goal. Williams scored first (with an assist from Shawn Kimble) for the Cadets. Greece freshman Tyler Dalle scored his lone goal of the game (unassisted), during man-up, to keep the game tied with 2:54 remaining. That was the last goal from the Lightning. Hilton scored six more goals to end the game. In the cage for Hilton, Jarod Kimble played the majority of the game and recorded 5 saves. Tyler Cusse and Delvin Ergott played the final five minutes but neither faced a shot on cage. Face off midfielder Harald Juergens finished with six ground balls to lead his team. .
