 -

Adams eventWhen West Genesee comes to play at Penfield on Saturday, the game will be dedicated to West Genesee coach Joe Adams who recently and unexpectedly was diagnosed with Stage 3 Brain Cancer. Donations will be collected to help the Adams family in this great time of need.

From Penfield statement:

"Joe Adams is a graduate and resident of West Genesee, where he currently coaches basketball at the high school and modified lacrosse.  On January 24th Joe had a seizure at school and after a medical evaluation Joe has been diagnosed with Stage 3 brain cancer.  Joe, his wife and two children will be dealing with some extra expenses that arise during his six week treatment in Boston. As a Cortland Red Dragon, Coach Schembri had the pleasure to play lacrosse with All American Joe Adams."

"Penfield plays West Genesee this Saturday at 1:00pm at Penfield a rematch of last years state-semifinal match up.  Penfield Lacrosse is donating all proceeds from the game to the Adams family.  Please consider coming out to the game and making a donation."

[Ed Note:] The lacrosse community has always comes together in time of need. "We tend to help our own". The Adams family will benefit from your generosity. More information and a link for donations is available here.
