Seton Hill Gets Merritt Bailey

FultonMerritt Bailey, a senior goalie for Marcus Whitman High School, announced today that he has made a verbal committeeman to study and play at Seton Hill (Greensburg, PA).

Starting in goal for the Wildcats since his freshman year, Bailey recorded 178 saves last year for a career total of 575 in his first three years. In addition, the "up field goalie" added 11g-4a in his junior year, helping him to earn Finger Lakes second team goalie honors in 2013.

A busy off-season schedule saw Bailey at Hobart and Cornell Camps and on the Nike Upstate Rising junior team where he was names a standout by Inside Lacrosse. The Daily Messenger listed him on the All-Star team in his junior year.

Playing in 2013 with the SweetLax Lacrosse Club, Bailey participated in Best of the Best, MVP and Yale Bulldog Classic tournaments.

Seton Hill is an NCAA Division II team, playing in the ECAC conference. They finished the 2013 season with a 12-4 record under Head Coach Brian Novotny who finished his eighth season with the Griffins. Last season they received their first NCAA tournament bid losing to Limestone 16-13.

Before making his decision considered Lake Erie, Mercyhurst and Hamilton.
