-- Special  Hilton's Harald Juergens had the first goal of the game when he scored on an unassisted drive in man up at 9:54. He had a big day for Hilton, winning eight of thirteen face offs and leading in scoring with 3g-1a and in ground balls with eleven. The lead was short-lived as Pittsford returned soon after with their own man up goal. Albie DiPasquale (3g-4a), behind the cage, found Ben Overslaugh, in front and the game was tied at 1-1. Hilton at PittsfordHilton then won the face off on a technical call and Juergens brought the ball down quickly to Alex Milliken who scored. Two minutes later Andrew Rodenhouse scored an unassisted goal for Pittsford. After his defender knocked the ball out of his stick behind the cage, Rodenhouse boxed him out, scooped up the ball and ran to the far crease and shot just after passing the goal line. The Panthers took their first lead in the game, scoring the last goal of the quarter when James Felix found Stephen Quinzi (3g-3a) on the high crease. Felix made a hard drive from the top left and just after beating his defender he made a strong, short pass to Quinzi for the goal. Pittsford led at the end of the first quarter 3-2.

Hilton lost no time tying the game again when they scored from the initial face off. After Teddy Alvarado beat a Pittsford defender near the midfield, he set up an inside fast break and found Shawn Kimble who scored. Pittsford then took a two goal lead on goals by DiPasquale and Billy Cooper (assisted by DiPasquale). The first goal was scored on a clear-out. The second on a cross-crease pass. Hilton came back with an unassisted goal by Milliken who drove from top center. The Panthers then closed out the half with three more goals. Quinzi scored with a drive down the center. DiPasquale found Overslaugh on a crease pass in man up and Quinzi scored on a while driving from left to right. The Panthers led at the break, 8-4.Hilton at Pittsford

The Cadets scored first in the third quarter when Juergens picked up a loose ball at midfield and took it right to the goalie. Pittsford then added two more goals, five minutes apart to open the Panther lead to five goals. Hilton starting goalie, Jarod Kimble took a hard shot and went down. Although he was not injured, because of the injury timeout, he had to be temporarily replaced by Mark Detroia. Brandon Barker scored against Detroia with an assist from DiPasquale and Kimble then took back the cage for Hilton. Overslaugh scored in man up at 3:48 after he picked the ball up off the ground. Shawn Kimble added one for Hilton at 1:15 with an assist from Derek Richards to end the third quarter scoring with Pittsford up 10-6.

Pittsford opened up their lead at the top of the last quarter with goals by DiPasquale (from Quinzi) in man up, and Barker from Quinzi. Hilton stayed focused and scored three unanswered goals in a thirty-six second period starting at 6:13. Juergens scored the first goal on a sweep from left to right. After as terrific stop by Pittsford goalie Kevin Maguire, the ball bounced to the ground just outside the crease, where Alvarado quickly scooped it up and popped it in. There was a Pittsford penalty on the play and Hilton started with the ball. Dante Giordano scored in man up to bring the score 12-9. Pittsford controlled the ball for the last five minutes, limiting offensive time for the Cadets. DiPasquale scored the last goal of the game on a pass from Quinzi and the Panthers won 13-9.

Pittsford, now 13-2 has one game left in their regular season. They will play host Fairport on Thursday in a game that could determine a league championship and tournament seeding. Hilton will play Rush-Henrietta on Tuesday and Brockport on Thursday.

Today was "lacrosse festival" day in Pittsford and the Junior Varsity took the stadium field after the game to that they could play their game against Hilton. All scholastic boys and girls lacrosse teams played home games on Saturday as the Pittsford Boosters held various fund-raisers to support youth lacrosse in the community.
