April 29, 2013 - The Honeoye Falls-Lima Cougars recently announced the Peter Pluta and Connor Flaherty will continue their education and playing lacrosse after graduation in June.
Senior Attackman Connor Flaherty has selected Babson for both its academic programs and for its growing lacrosse program. A current team captain, he knew for some time that he wanted to attend college in New England, where extended family members live.
He is a member of the National Honor Society with a GPA of 3.4 and has been playing lacrosse since age nine, when he started with the youth program coached by Mike Kelly.
After starting to play with the varsity in his sophomore year, he has a career record of 65g-67a. This season he currently leads the team in assists (32), points (49) and ground balls (42). He has won All League second team and honorable mention for attack in past years.
During the summer he attended strength and conditioning camps, played for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes team and attended the Elite 180 Camp and a tournaments like the Battle by the Bay Spring Showcase, Erie Showcase, SU Tournament, Stowe Lax, Wildcat Invitational, Beantown Classic Individual Showcase.
Senior midfielder Peter Pluta has decided to attend Eastern Connecticut College. After being recruited by lacrosse teams in all three divisions, Peter decided to focus on NCAA D-III schools. After visiting Washington College, Manhattenville and ECU he chose the Warriors.
A three year varsity player for the Cougars, Peter has, thus far, accumulated 16g-9a in his career despite an injury in his junior year that caused him to miss a significant part of the season. He is the current midfield scoring leader and has recorded 19gbs and 11 takes.
He will be playing for Head Coach Justin Axil, who has been with ECU for six years. The Warriors play in the Little Eastern Conference. Peter hopes to study business administration. |
