Monday: Lightning, Gananda and Geneva Win Today |

With only a coupe of weeks left in the regular season, makeup games are scheduled whenever they can be played. Three games were played today. The Lightning beat their cross-town rivals 10-9. Gananda improved their record to 10-3 with a win over Newark and Geneva improved their record to 12-1 when they defeated Pal-Mac.

-- Greece Lightning scored the first three goals and the last three goals to secure their win over Greece Thunder 10-9 in the annual Storm Game. Greece Arc/Oly tied the game with 3:15 remaining on an unassisted goal from Zac Sapor. The game was won on a Tyler Dalle goal with 2:44 remaining in the contest.
The Lightning scored the first three goals with Connor May assisting on the first two goals. Sergio Rosado scored at 9:43 and Bryan Collister scored at 7:30. Collister scored again two minutes later to give the Lightning the three goal lead. The Thunder scored the next four goals. Anthony Merola scored three of his five goals in the opening half. He also assisted on one of the other goals.
The Lightning scored the next two goals only 0:33 apart to tie the game at 5-5. Rosado scored his second and Tyler Dalle scored his first goal of the game. The game kept going back and forth until half way through the fourth quarter. The Thunder scored two back to back goals to take 9-7 lead with 6:46 remaining in the game. The final three goals were scored by the Lightning.
Leading the scoring for Arc/Oly was Dalle (3g) and Connor May (3a). In the cage for the Lightning was Josh Hovey with 13 saves (59%). Midfielder Nick Capone finished with a team leading 11 ground balls for the Lightning. For the Thunder, all nine goals were scored by attackmen. Anthony Merola led with 5g-2a with Pat Crowe (2g-2a) and Anthony Crawford (2g) rounding out the goals. Midfielders Ryan Fritz (2a) and Brian Torcha (1a) added assists to the Thunder tally. In the cage, Hunter Merola finished with 12 saves.
