Thursday: Schroeder over Churchville 11-5
 - 

There were only four games played today. Webster Schroeder used seven goals in the second half to beat Churchville-Chili 11-5. Even scoring gave Aquinas a 15-11 win over visiting HF-L. Webster Thomas beat the Greece Lightning 15-5 and Brighton beat Brockport 15-2.

--  Aquinas scored five unanswered goals in the opening quarter and held off HF-L for the remainder of the game to win 15-11. The Little Irish were led in scoring by midfielder Billy Lombardi with 3g-3a. The Cougars were led by senior attackman Connor Flaherty with 4g-2a.

HF-L scored the first two goals of the game in the opening six minutes. Flaherty and Jake Boice scored unassisted goals to give the Cougars the lead. Aquinas scored the next five goals in only 2:33. AQ vs HF-LLombardi scored one, Alex Bianchi scored two, Jamison Whitfield and Jonathan Olbrich added one each. The last minute of the quarter had a flurry of activity. Flaherty scored his second goal with 1:10 remaining in the opening quarter. Twelve seconds later Lombardi assisted Olbrich to keep Aquinas three goals ahead. Flaherty's third goal came with 0:07 remaining in the quarter with an assist from Boice. Aquinas led 6-4 after the first quarter.

In the second half, each team scored two goals. Aquinas scored the first goal 0:32 into the quarter when Liam Smith assisted Olbrich for his third goal of the game. HFL scored the next two goals with Ryan Kelly and Alex Mapstone each adding one. Bill Pluta assisted Mapstone's goal. The final goal of the opening half was scored during man-up with Lombardi assisting Bianchi. Aquinas held their two goal lead, 8-6.

Aquinas increased their lead in the third quarter, outscoring HF-L 2-1. In the final quarter both teams added four goals. The Cougars did bring the game within two goals with 2:37 remaining in play. However, the Little Irish added the last points with two unassisted goals from Lombardi.

Flaherty led HF-L in ground balls with 13. Boice added four and defensemen Caleb Cooley and Anthony Garcia finished with three each. In the cage, Max Beniamino finished with nine saves.

For Aquinas, Billy Lombardi finished with a team leading nine ground balls. Defenseman Tommy Bell finished with five ground balls. In the cage, Alex Uhlein finished with four saves. return to top

--  The game remained close for nearly three quarters but Schroeder scored five unanswered goals in the third quarter to secure their 11-5 win over Churchville-Chili. Schroeder won the second half 7-2.

Churchville-Chili finished the game with 35 shots, 23 of which came from three players: Ryan Cosgrove (9), Trevor Hodgins (7) and Aaron Buck (7). All three finished with two points. Buck finished with 2g and Cosgrove and Hodgins with 1g-1a each. Hodgins finished with a team leading 11 ground balls. In the cage for the Saints, Mike Yehl finished with nine saves.

The Warriors were led in scoring by senior midfielder Mike Austin with 4g-2a. Austin scored all four of his goals unassisted, including two in a row during the third quarter run. Ground ball leaders included midfielder Joe Saltrelli and defenseman Brett Zilliox with five each. Midfielder Adam Gerbasi finished with four. Schroeder's Cooper Lee played the final four minutes of the contest in the Warrior goal and recorded one save.
