Tuesday: Schroeder over Fairport in Overtime
May 24, 2016 - Three of the four quarterfinals were mismatches with the higher seeded team winning, but in the #4-#5 match up it with the number five seeded Webster Schroeder, taking out Fairport (#4) in a 10-9 overtime thriller. Other winners today were Penfield, Victor and Pittsford. Full Report

Wednesday: Two One Goal Wins - Higher Seeds Win
May 25, 2016 - Although the seeding for the Class B and Class C held through the quarterfinals, there were two exciting games. Gananda was an 11-10 winner over Pal-Mac and Churchville-Chili was a 13-12 winner over Brighton. The rest of the winners were Canandaigua, Pen Yan, Wayne, Aquinas, Thomas and Irondequoit. Friday: It`s Victor and Pittsford in the Class A Finals
May 27, 2016 - The highly regarded Blue Devils from Victor had no trouble securing their ticket to the finals as they defeated Webster Schroeder. Pittsford had a closer game with Penfield but will face Victor for the Class A Championship on Tuesday at St. John Fisher College. Full Report

Saturday: Both Class B Winners Win in Overtime
May 28, 2016 - With the semifinals concluded, the teams are set for the 2016 Section Five Championships. Victor will play Pittsford in Class A, Thomas will play Canandaigua in Class B and Penn Yan will play Aquinas in Class C. The Class C semifinals turned out to be mismatches with Penn Yan defeating Gananda 19-7 and Aquinas beating Wayne 14-1. It was quite a different story in the Class B semis as both winning teams won in overtime. Of interest is that neither winning team led during regulation and both teams won their game with a man up goal. Full Report

Section Five Championships Tuesday and Wednesday
May 30, 2016 - The games have now been decided and all that is left is to play the final games in the Section Five season. The winners will move on the the New York State Tournament which will take place away from Section Five this year. Full Report

Tuesday: Victor in Big Comeback Win
May 31, 2016 - Pittsford came into the "Big Game" ready to avenge their earlier loss and eager to prove that they could be "the top team in the country and they nearly did so. After leading for most of the game. Victor senior attackman scored three goals in a row to give the Blue Devils their second and final lead of the game. Full Report

Saturday: The Tournaments Begin with a Hilton Win
May 21, 2016 - The 2016 Section Five Tournaments began today with a single out bracket game for the Class A Tournament. Hilton was the winner as they hosted Rush-Henrietta. The Cadets will play Victor in the quarter final round on Tuesday. Full Report

Monday: Seeding Holds in Out Brackets - Mynderse Wins in OT
May 23, 2016 - There were no upsets in the Section Five tournaments in the out bracket rounds as the higher seeded teams won in each case. Mynderse had a close one with Livonia, winning 10-9 in overtime. Spencerport scored a bunch of goals in the fourth quarter to beat Brockport 19-14. Other winners today were Bath, who claimed their 100th win, McQuaid Jesuit, Pal-Mac, Brighton and Geneva. Full Report

Ben Reeves Name Tewaraaraton Finalist
May 15, 2016 - The list of finalists for the prestigious Tewaraaraton award that honors the top male and female college player in the United States was announced today and among the five finalists is Pal-Mac alumnus Ben Reeves. The current Yale sophomore earned first team All American honors and was named Ivy League Tournament MVP. He is the first finalist to come from Yale. Full Report

May 16, 2016 - Aquinas and McQuaid Jesuit both traveled west to play games against St. Francis and St. Joseph (Section VI). Aquinas was a 13-4 winner and the Knights lost to St Joe`s. Full Report

May 17, 2016 - The Greece Thunder was a one goal winner over Brockport in the closest game of the day. Irondequoit had a 13-7 win over Penfield and Wayne took Waterloo. May 19, 2016 - The 2016 Section Five Tournaments will start this weekend with an out bracket game for Class A on Saturday and will end with the crowning of the Class B Champions on June 1st. Full Report

Thursday: Thomas Beats Pittsford in Overtime
May 19, 2016 - In a game that see-sawed back and forth, Thomas scored the winning goal in overtime to defeat Pittsford 12-11. On the other end of town Penfield defeated Schroeder by a goal in the last minute of the game. Mynderse won a high scoring game against Livonia (17-14) and Avon beat Marcus Whitman 13-9. Other winners were Gananda, Aquinas, Spencerport, Wayne, Bloomfield-Honeoye, Victor, Gates Chili, Fairport and Canandaigua. Hilton beat Rush-henrietta 15-2 but they will play again in the Class A out bracket on Saturday. Full Report

May 20, 2016 - The 2016 tournaments have been seeded and the schedules are set. VICTOR (Class A) with a record of 16-0 is the top of Class A and will defend their 2015 Championship (in Class B). PITTSFORD, PENFIELD and FAIRPORT took positions two, three and four. All nine teams play with Rush-Henrietta at Hilton playing in an out bracket game on Saturday. Thursday: Pittsford 8-7 over Corning and 15 Other Games
May 12, 2016 - There were sixteen games played today as the regular season is starting to wind down. Pittsford came from behind to beat host Corning 8-7 in the closest game of the day. Thomas took Irondequoit by two (12-10) and Gananda beat Mynderse 11-8. Other winners were Churchville-Chili (now 13-0), Livonia, HF-L, Midlakes, Pal-Mac, Lightning, Gates Chili, Geneva, Canandaigua, Aquinas, Fairport, Bath and Penfield. Full Report

Friday: Two One Goals Games Today
May 13, 2016 - There were only two games played on Friday and both games were won by a single goal. In the afternoon game, Bloomfield-Honeoye beat host Batavia 6-5. In the night game, Hamburg had an overtime win against Canandaigua as they won 10-9. Full Report

Saturday: Gananda Takes Out Wayne
May 14, 2016 - Gananda ruined Wayne`s undefeated season with a one goal win (10-9) on this last Saturday of the regular season. Brockport took a one goal win from Eastridge and Brighton was a 9-6 winner over visiting Lightning. Monday: Waterloo, Gananda and Aquinas Win Today
May 2, 2016 - Gananda used their game as a benefit to help support their former Head Coach Mike Pane in his battle against brain cancer. Aquinas continued their winning ways in a 5-3 win over Canisius and Waterloo won a non-league game against Batavia. Full Report

Tuesday: Two One Goal Games in Webster
May 3, 2016 - Among the seventeen games played today were two in Webster and they both had exciting finishes. Schroeder hosted Fairport in a game that started with a 1-1 half and ended with the Raiders winning 4-3. On the Titan Field, Thomas hosted Canandaigua in what could be a preview of an exciting Class B game which went to overtime with the Titans winning 9-8. Other winners were Pal-Mac, Spencerport, HFL, Gates Chili, Livonia, Penn Yan, Brighton, Bloomfield-Honeoye, Mynderse, Wayne, Victor, R-H, Pittsford, Bath and Churchville-Chili. Full Report

Thursday: Victor Remains Undefeated with 9-6 Win over Pittsford
May 5, 2016 - The greatly anticipated contest between Victor and Pittsford was resolved, at least at this point, tonight when Victor overcame a 4-2 halftime deficit and scored seven goals in the second half to beat the Panthers 9-6. The game lived up to the hype, playing before a large crowd and with officials who were very happy to let the two highly skilled teams play a high energy and physical game. Finally, after so many nights of mismatches, there were other close games tonight as Thunder beat Brockport 10-9, Mynderse beat Midlakes 7-6, Waterloo defeated Newark 7-5, and McQuaid defeated Bath 10-9. Other close games included Fairport over Canandaigua (8-4), Brighton over HFL (10-7) and Penfield over Thomas (18-13). Other winners today were Gananda, Penn Yan, Spencerport, Churchville-Chili, Hilton and Irondequoit. Full Report

May 7, 2016 - Bath beat Livonia, Hilton beat HF-L and Aquinas took out R-H each winning by one goal. Victor remained undefeated with a 16-11 win over Cazenovia (Section 3). Other winners include Bloomfield-Honeoye, Lightning, Newark, Schroeder, Thomas, Penn Yan, Spencerport and Corning (who defeated Fairport 13-9). Full Report

Tuesday: Penn Yan over Fairport, Lightning Wins in OT
May 10, 2016 - A full day of games today saw mostly mismatches but a number of interesting games. Penn Yan took a 10-7 game from Fairport and the Lightning won their game against Brockport in overtime. Bloomfield-Honeoye won their game against Mynderse and HF-L won their game over Spencerport 15-12. Schroeder beat Irondequoit 14-7. Other winners were Midlakes, Canandaigua, Churchville-Chili (still undefeated), Gananda, Pittsford, Victor (still undefeated), Thomas and Aquinas. Full Report

Gananda Game to Raise Funds for Coach Pane
May 1,2016 - The Gananda Varsity Boys Lacrosse team has dedicated their home game on Monday, May 2nd to former Coach Mike Pane`s recovery. Pane, a member of the Canandaigua class of 2004, was the first coach at Gananda and took them from a 2-13 record in their inaugural year to 12-6 record in 2012 and 13-4 in 2013. Full Report
