Post Season Play 2010
After the regular season, there are several championship opportunities for teams that qualify. First up are the Section Five Tournaments for three classes (A-B-C).
   
Sectionals winners then compete for their regional championships in what some call the "State Quarterfinals".

Section Five Tournament Brackets - 2010

The Section Five Lacrosse Tournaments will start on Tuesday, May 25th and will end with the crowning of champions on Friday, June 4th.

All Section Five lacrosse teams will play in this year's tournaments following the brackets below.
  

In Class A:

All ten teams will play in the 2010 tournament. Teams seeded 7th to 10th will play in out bracket games on Tuesday, May 25th at the higher seeded team's field. The winners will advance to the quarterfinal round on Friday, May 28th, again at the higher seeded team's field.

The semifinal games will be played at Spencerport on Tuesday, June 1st and the Championship game will be played at St. John Fisher on June 4th at 7:30pm.

In Class B:

All ten teams will play in the 2010 tournament. Teams seeded 7th to 10th will play in out bracket games on Tuesday, May 25th at the higher seeded team's field. The winners will advance to the quarterfinal round on Thursday, May 27th, again at the higher seeded team's field.

The semifinal games will be played at Aquinas on Tuesday, June 1st. The higher seeded team will play the first game of the day. The Championship game will be played at St. John Fisher on June 4th at 5:30pm.

In Class C:

All fifteen teams will play in the 2010 tournament. All teams except the top seeded team will play in out bracket games on Tuesday, May 25th at the higher seeded team's field. The winners will advance to the quarterfinal round on Friday, May 28th, again at the higher seeded team's field.

The semifinal round will be played on Tuesday, June 1st at Waterloo. The higher seeded team will play the first game of the day.

The finals will be played at St. John Fisher on Friday, June 4th at 3:30 pm.

NYSPHSAA Championships

After each participating section has determined their champions, games are conducted by NYS to crown State Champions in classes A, B and C.

Western: Sections 5 and 6
Central: Sections 3 and 4
Lower State: Sections 1 and 2
Long Island: Sections 8 and 11
Outbracket: Sections 9 and 10

There are no teams playing in Section 7
   

Round 1 – Out bracket Games
There are a few teams playing lacrosse in Sections 9 and 10. As of 2009 Sections 3 and 4 will take turns playing against Section 10 and Sections 1 and 2 will take turns playing in the out bracket game against Section 9. The Western region (Sections 5 and 6) and the Long Island region will no longer play in the out bracket rounds.

This year Section 3 Champions in Classes B and C are scheduled to play outbracket games against Section 10 on Saturday, June 5th at Cicero-North Syracuse. The Class B game will be played at 1:00 and the Class C game will be played at 3:30. There is no Class A team representing Section 10. Also on June 5th, Section 2 Champions in classes A, B and C will play the Section 1 Champions at Yorktown.

 

Round 2 – Regional Games
Four “Regional” games for each class will be played on June 8th in what some call the “State Quarterfinals”. The Class B “Western Regional Championship” game will be played at 3:30 pm. The Class C game will be played at 5:30. The Class A game will be played at 8:00. The games will be played at Canisius College (Buffalo) this year.

In other parts of the State, Section 3/10 and 4 will play for the “Central Championship” and Sections 8 and 11 will play for the “Long Island Championship”. The winners of the Section 1 vs Section 2 out bracket will play against Section 9 for the “Lower State Championship”.

 

Round 3 – Semi Final Games
The “East/West” Championships will be played in each class on June 10th. The Western Regional Champions will play against the Central Champions at Cicero-North Syracuse High School (Syracuse) with Class B at 3:30 pm, Class C at 5:30 pm and Class A at 8:00 pm. These games will crown the “Upstate Champions”.

The “Downstate Championships” will be played at Hofstra University this year (at the same times as above.)

 

Round 4 – New York State Championships
The Championship games for each Class will be played at Stony Brook University on June 12th with the Class B game starting at 11:00 am, the Class C game at 1:30 pm and the Class A game at 4:00 pm.
