Round 1 – Out
bracket Games
There are a few teams playing lacrosse in Sections 9 and 10. As of 2009 Sections 3 and 4 will take turns playing against Section 10 and Sections 1 and 2 will take turns playing in the out bracket game against Section 9. The Western region (Sections 5 and 6) and the Long Island region will no longer play in the out bracket rounds.
This year Section 4 Champions in Classes
B and C are scheduled to play outbracket games against Section 10 on Saturday,
June 6th. The Class C game
will be played at 1:00 and the Class B game will be played
at 3:30. There is no Class A team representing Section
10. Also on June 6th, Section 9 Champions in classes A,
B and C will play at a site in Section 2.
Round 2 – Regional
Games
Four “Regional” games for each class will be
played on June 9th in what some call the “State
Quarterfinals”.
The Class A “Western Regional Championship” game
will be played at 3:30 pm. The Class B game will be played
at 5:30. The Class C game will be played at 8:00. The
games will be played
at St. John Fisher College this year.
In other parts
of the State, Section 4/10 and 3 will play for the “Central
Championship” and Sections
8 and 11 will play for the “Long Island Championship”.
The winners of the Section 9 vs Section 2 out bracket will
play against Section 1 for the “Lower State Championship”.
Round
3 – Semi Final
Games
The “East/West” Championships will be played
in each class on June 11th. The Western Regional Champions
will play against the Central Champions at St. John Fisher College with Class C at 3:30 pm, Class A at
5:30 pm and Class B at 8:00 pm. These games will crown
the “Upstate
Champions”.
The “Downstate Championships” will
be played at Stony Brook University this year (at the same times
as above.)
Round 4 – New York
State Championships
The Championship games for each Class will be played at
Rochester Rhino Stadium on June 13th with the
Class C game starting at 11:00 am, the Class A game at
1:30 pm and the Class B game at 4:00 pm.
