LAST YEAR

2012 SEASON

Spencerport has been on a roll for three years, improving each year. They turned in their best record to date in 2012 when they went 13-4. They were seeded third in the Class B tournament but fell to Canandaigua in the quarter final round and finished sixth. Their 12-2 league record placed them second in Monroe County-D3 behind Churchville-Chili.

Their offense was strong, ranking first in the entire Section with a total of 227 goals (14.19 average). Ten players made the offensive book. Junior attackman Matt Kaser led the Rangers in scoring, assists and points with 61g-49a (110 pts) which placed him first on the Sectional Leader Board. Other significant performances included senior midfielders Seth Miller (15g-33a), Jeff Nitti (45g-15a), Ben Tribunella (30g-11a) and Levi Basynnski (12g-10a). Senior attackman Zach Goodsell had 46g-12a. Senior goalie Tyler Schweikert had the majority of goal time and posted 145 saves (58%) with junior Nick Waples, TJ Miranda and LSM Dylan Osman out front. Miranda led the team in defensive take aways with 19. Senior face off man Seth Miller led the team in ground ball production with 201 while winning 215 draws (69%).

When the MC-D3 awards came out, the Rangers had Kaser, Miller, Nitti and Waples on the first team list and Goodsell, Tribunella, Basynnski, Osman and Schweikert on the second team. Kaser was named D-3 Player of the Year, Matt Nentarz was named Head Coach of the Year and Tim Britton was named Assistant Coach of the Year. Kaser and Miller were named to the second team All-Section list.

Seth Miller announced his intent to play at Roberts Wesleyan.
