| It was another very exciting year for the Mustangs as they took their 14-2 pre-tournament record through the Class C Championships and lost to Shoreham-Wading River in the New York State Championship game. With their independent schedule, Coach Hobart once again, mixed up his opponents, playing Finger Lakes teams like Canandaigua and Geneva with out-of-Section powerhouses like Baldwinsville and Lakeland/Panas. The Mustangs (20-3), who averaged almost twelve goals a game while holding their opponents to an average of under five, suffered a one goal loss to Baldwinsville (8-9) and lost a close game to Fairport (2-5), but won all the others during the regular season. After breezing through the Section Five Tournament, where they outscored their opponents 69-11, they beat Silver Creek (Section 6) 14-13 and then Homer (Section 3) 10-8 before facing SWR in the finals.
Twenty players made the offensive book in 2012 and six had over twenty points each. Leading the pack was sophomore attackman Bradley Voigt who lead the team in goals, assists and points with 62g-46a (108 pts). Sophomore attackman Rion Davison had 70 points (43g-27a) and eighth grade attackman added 17g-9a. Junior attackman Ryan Maciejewski scored 75 points (36g-39a), senior middie Jordan Owen added 20g-3a and senior midfielder Dylan Yonts put in 75 points (46g-29a). Sixty-nine percent of the 270 Mustang goals were assisted.
Sophomore goalie Brandon Maciejewski was in the nets for the second year and made 213 saves (69%). The Mustangs placed second in Section Five defense (10th in offense) which was a credit to both "Mace" and the long sticks in front of him. They included junior James Burdette and seniors Dan Guererri, Mike Thiesmeyer and Kevin Kerrick.
Although there were no league awards for this independent team, they still pulled in some impressive hardware. Bradley Voigt, Davison, Yonts and Thiesmeyer made the Class C All Tournament and Brandon Maciejewski was named the Class C Most Valuable Player. Dylan Yonts was named a USLacrosse All American. A four year player for the Mustangs, he was named to the All Tournament team in his sophomore, junior and senior years. He ended his career with 112g-96a. Brandon Maciejewski, Thiesmeyer, Bradley Voigt and Yonts each made the All Section Five first team. Ryan Maciejewski was named to the second team All Section list. Brandon Maciejewski, Bradley Voigt and Yonts were named to the Rochester D&C All-Greater Rochester Top 16 list. Topping off the awards was a New York State Scholar-Athlete award for the team who turned in a 92.533 average.
Expected to continue to play at the college level were Bradley Voigt (Syracuse), Yonts (St. Leo), midfielder Brandon Grace (Keuka) and Burdette (Albany).
