LAST YEAR

2012 SEASON

It was a tough year for the Thunder who ended the season at 1-16. Their single win was a 10-5 win over Batavia toward the end of the season. The Thunder, under first year Head Coach Ray Gangarossa, finished eighth in Monroe County D3. Seeded tenth in the Class A tournament, Ath/Ody finished as seeded after a loss to Rush-Henrietta in the out bracket round.

A group of juniors led the scoring with midfielder Anthony Merola leading in goals and points with 37g-8a (45 pts). Attackman Pat Crowe added 10g-16a and Anthony Crawford had 9g-10a from his position in the attack. Goalie time was nearly split between seniors Mike Zimmer (103 saves) and Ken Mohrman (60 saves). Junior defenseman Ryan Walsh and long stick midfielder Keenan Mahoney led the defense.

As for honors, Merola was named to the Monroe County D3 first team list and the team earned a NYS Scholar / Athlete Award with an average of 90.354.
