LAST YEAR

2012 SEASON

The Panthers placed second in the Finger Lakes League after posting a 12-1 (12-4 overall) record in the regular season. Their losses came at the hands of Livonia and Penn Yan and they had one goal losses to Canandaigua and Pal-Mac. Seeded 4th in the Class C tournament, the Panthers beat Bloomfield-Honeoye but lost to HF-L in the quarter finals and finished fifth. They topped the Section in defense, allowing only 3.47 goals per game. Their offense scored an average of 11.56, which placed them 5th in the Section.

Junior Defensemen Nick Andrews and Dan Hickey and long sticks Kevin Reed and Bobby Sollenne worked with a strong group of midfielders to help control the number of shots that got through to junior goalie Derek Grillone who made 96 saves (59%). Junior midfielder Sean Cunningham led the Panthers in goals, assists and points with 48g-43a (91 pts). Junior attackman Drew Feinberg (36g-24a), sophomore midfielder Eddie Eddington (28g-16a), sophomore attackman Fran Shaw (36g-8a) and junior attackman Jesse Singleton (19g-7a) all added double-digit numbers in the 2012 offense.

For their efforts Feinberg, Cunningham, Eddington, Sollenne, Andrews and Hickey received first team All-Finger Lakes League honors. Sean Cunningham was named the "Finger Lakes Midfielder of the Year" and Coach Brian Travis was named "Assistant Coach of the Year". Shaw and Reed were named to the second team. Cunningham was named to the All-Section Five Second Team and the Panthers received a NYS Scholar/Athlete Award with an average of 93.051.
