LAST YEAR

2012 SEASON

The Blue Panthers ended their second Varsity season with a very respectable 12-6 record. Their pre-tournament record of 11-5 earned them a 7th seed in the Class C tournament and they finished as seeded. The Panthers won their first ever Sectional contest with a 5-4 overtime win against Mynderse in the out bracket round and then lost to second seeded Aquinas in the quarter finals. After a year as an Independent team, the Blue Panthers joined the Finger Lakes League in 2012 and finished in 5th place with an 8-5 record.

Three players tied for the goal leader spot. Senior midfielder Trevor Schraffenberger, junior attackman Zach Rink and freshman middie Ian Palmer each scored thirty-one goals in the season. Palmer led in assists and points with 31g-19a (50 pts). Senior middie Collin Dotterer (16g-5a) and junior Kyler Friesner (14g-10a) also figured in the offense that averaged 8.7 goals per game.

Second year starter, Stephen Fisher, had all of the goal time. The senior goalie recorded 188 saves (61%) with eighth grader Dylan Joy and senior Aaron Valino leading the long stick out front. The Blue Panthers finished 9th in the Section in defense with an average 6.6 goals against.

At the end of the year Fisher was named to the second team All Finger Lakes team along with Palmer, Schraffenberger and Joy. Fisher planned to continue playing at RIT.
