November 24, 2006 - After many months of hard work, the video, celebrating the history of Irondequoit Lacrosse made its "World Debut" at Irondequoit High School tonight.
Restaurant owner and movie producer, Howard Nielsen spent two years to produce the documentary which focuses on the Irondequoit program but is very much a story about Upstate New York and Monroe County Lacrosse.
"This full-length documentary includes rare archival footage, photos, articles, and stories from players and coaches, past and present. See clips from the first NCAA championship title in 1971, Cornell vs. Maryland! Plus, a tribute to one of Lacrosse's true greats, Eamon McEneaney, who tragically lost his life on 9/11."
A video order form is available here.
December 11, 2006 - After many years "ad free", SportFive will begin
accepting a limited number of advertisement starting in January.
"We have had a number of generous groups and individuals who have been helping
out", said SportsFive owner Paul Wilson, "but as we continue to grow each year,
the donations have not kept up with the rising costs."
SportsFive.NET had more than twelve million hits during the playing season and
another large number during the Empire State Games.
The formal announcement and information for advertisements will be posted in
the next few weeks.
