Post Game Reports

There is a great deal of happiness (or not) at the end of most games, but among the many post game details, don't forget to report the score and turn in the game data.

scorebookPlease remember that BOTH TEAMS report the scores. This allows us to have a check on the data and make sure that your kids get proper credit for their play.

  1. If possible, send a text message or call in the score right after the game finishes (585-348-7316) and leave a message.

  2. Later, please send in a "Game Report", that contains the following information

    • The score BY QUARTER (ie: 0-2, 1-3, 3-3, 6-5)

    • The name of each player scoring goals and/or assists (ie: John Smith 3g-2a)

    • The number of goalie saves and goals scored against each goalie along with the number of minutes (if more than one goalie played). ie: John smith 10s/3ga 24 mins, Pete Jones 6s/2ga 24 mins). Note that the number of goals against must add up to the number of goals your opponent scored!

    • As of 2015, you can send is a picture of the scoring table in the scorebook, as long as it shows each score/assist/time/quarter. From this picture (make sure it is in focus), much of the data listed above, can be constructed and a story can be written.

    • Finally, add any comments that would make for good reading. Pay specific attention to the defense as they don't get much ink. If there was a special event, milestone, etc. please make sure we have it.

    • If you are sending in "Full Stats" data, please attach the spreadsheet to the e-mail report.

  3. The next day, please read our story and make sure to send us an e-mail if there is a factual error so that we can update the article.

SPECIAL NOTE: The game reports can really be done by someone other than the Head Coach. With so many other responsibilities, please give some thought to passing this task on to a trusted parent or coach. We will help your volunteers, so that they need not fear the task.

This game was back and forth all day- if you like lax you were on your seat the whole game. We did a great job on the defensive side and Becker played the best game i have seen this year. We traded all game and neither team ever had too much momentum to put things out of reach against the other team. in the second we got a little behind and gave up three EMO goals to them , but we held strong. In the end of the game Becker came up with three huge saves in the last minute(one on the final seconds ) when two clears failed. We have come together very unselfishly at the end and look forward to the finals Friday). Junior midfielder Jeff Wester scored the game winner with 1:47 left in the game.
